Accessibility Statement
Last Updated: February 25, 2026
POM Therapy Collective is committed to ensuring that our website and therapy services are accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to mental health information and care.
Our Commitment to Digital Accessibility
We strive to ensure that our website at pomtherapycollective.com meets or exceeds the requirements of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines provide a framework for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Features of This Website
We have implemented the following accessibility features on our Site:
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading structure, landmark regions, and semantic elements to support screen readers and assistive technologies
- Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements on our Site are navigable using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse
- Text Alternatives: Images include descriptive alternative text to convey their meaning to users who cannot see them
- Color Contrast: We maintain sufficient color contrast ratios between text and background colors to ensure readability for users with low vision or color vision deficiencies
- Responsive Design: Our Site is designed to be usable across a range of devices and screen sizes, including mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers
- Readable Fonts: We use legible typefaces at appropriate sizes, and our layout supports browser-level text resizing without loss of content or functionality
- Focus Indicators: Visible focus indicators are provided for interactive elements to assist users navigating with a keyboard
Accessibility of Therapy Services
As a telehealth-only practice serving clients throughout Illinois, we are committed to making our therapy services as accessible as possible:
Telehealth Accommodations
- Location Flexibility: Because all services are provided via telehealth, you can attend sessions from any private location in Illinois that is comfortable and convenient for you, including your home, office, or any other space where you feel safe
- Scheduling Flexibility: We work with clients to find appointment times that accommodate their needs, including considerations for caregiver schedules, medical appointments, and other accessibility-related timing requirements
- Technology Support: We provide guidance and support to help clients access and use our telehealth platform, including troubleshooting technical issues before and during sessions
Communication Accommodations
We are committed to effective communication with all clients and site visitors. Accommodations may include:
- Providing written summaries of session content when helpful
- Adjusting communication methods to meet individual needs
- Allowing additional time for sessions when needed to accommodate communication differences
- Working with clients to identify the communication format that works best for them
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Compliance
POM Therapy Collective is committed to complying with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and applicable state and federal accessibility laws. We do not discriminate on the basis of disability in our services, programs, or activities.
We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continuously work to improve the accessibility of our website and services. If you encounter a barrier to access, we want to know about it so we can address it.
Known Limitations
While we strive for full accessibility, we recognize that some aspects of our Site may not yet be fully optimized. We are aware of the following:
- Some third-party content or services linked from our Site (such as Headway for appointment booking) may have their own accessibility limitations that are outside our direct control. We encourage these third-party providers to maintain accessible platforms and will advocate for accessibility improvements where possible.
- Older blog content may not yet meet all current accessibility standards. We are working to review and update existing content on an ongoing basis.
